Istanbul city

Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey and historically called as Constantinople. There is a natural harbor called as Golden Horn. It is the alpha world city. This city has strong historical background being the capital of the Roman Empire. The historic areas are designated as World Heritage Site in 1985 by UNESCO. Istanbul has humidity through out the year and has moderate heat in summer. The buildings show Ottoman architecture but reflect all predecessors’ empires who ruled Istanbul. The other empires are Roman, Genoese and Byzantine. The city has got various synagogues and historic churches. The buildings of the Roman architecture are more durable than the others. There are numerous medical research centers in Istanbul. This is the best place for medical tourism. The water supply system is the one which was laid at the foundation of the city. The Istanbul archaeological museum is the largest and one of its kinds established in 1881.
