Bruges is the capital of the West Flanders of the Belgium Flemish region. Designated as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO the city is egg shaped. This heritage city is also called as The Venice of the North. This city is significant because of its port. The Church of Our Lady is considered as the worlds highest brick towers of the medieval architectural intact. The Michelangelo’s only sculpture the Madonna and Child. Some of the famous buildings are Old St. John’s Hospital, Beguinage, Basilica of the Holy Blood where the relic of the Holy blood will be paraded every year. There are also many cinema theatres and concerts halls. Many music festivals such as Airbag, Ars Musica, summer end festival takes place around the city. Food festicals such as Midwinterfeest and many other takes place every year. Bruges has got 11 unique historical museums in the city.

This place ahs a masterful capitol city that is a strategic location. Located in western Europe, this small place boasts big beauty. This tiny place is one of the three richest countries in the world. This country did not gain independence until 1867.
The climate in this extremely gorgeous place can reach very hot in the summer and extremely cold in the winter. This extreme change allows for dramatic fall displays. This old and rustic feeling place has some if it’s original structures still in place. These structures are a beauty all in themselves but added with all the natural beauty in the town it becomes truly exceptional. Not a cheap trip but definitely one worth making. Brussels is the largest urban area in Belgium and de facto capital city of the European Union. Officially, Brussels is known as ‘Brussels Capital-Region. People often confuse Brussels with the much smaller ‘City of Brussels’ withing it, which is the capital of Belgium. Brussels has turned from a 10th century fortress into a metropolis of more than one million inhabitants. After WWII, Brussels has remained as an important center of international politics. Main institutions of European Union and headquarters of NATO are situated at Brussels. In terms of per capita income, Brussels is the third richest city in EU.
Although historically Brussels was a Dutch speaking city but majority of the inhabitants are French speaking and thus both the languages are official. Due to its close proximity to the coastal area, the climate of Brussels is influenced by marine air masses from the Atlantic Ocean. Brussels faces on an average 200 days of rain per year. Brussels is divided into 19 municipalities. Architecture in Brussels is diverse, spanning from the medieval constructions on Grand Place to the modern buildings of EU institutions. Brussels is the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988. Main attractions of Brussels include Grand Place, Gothic Town Hall, Basilica of the Sacred Heart, St. Michael and Gudula Cathedral, Laken Castle with large greenhouses, Royal palace and many other museums and historical structures and buildings.
