Zagreb, capital and largest city of Croatia is situated between the southern slopes of Medvednica Mountain and northern and southern banks of Sava River. Zagreb is the cultural, economic, political and administrative center of Republic of Croatia. Its population is around 785,000. Zagreb provides an excellent link for traffic between central Europe and Adriatic Sea. Asides from hosting governmental ministries, bodies and offices, Zagreb is the center for major scientific, industrial, research and transport activities.
Besides being the largest city, it is the only city in Croatia, which has a metropolitan population exceeding 10 million people. The climate of Zagreb is subtropical humid climate with four separate seasons; summers being hot and winters being cold and with regular snowfall during December to March. Major industries in Zagreb are electrical machines and device manufacturing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, food processing and chemical. Zagreb is the hub of five major highways in Croatia and majority of the highways originate or end in Zagreb. It has an international airport and an extensive network of railways and roadways. Zagreb houses many museums that reflect the art, culture and history of not only Croatia but also of Europe and the world. Zagreb is a major tourist center of Europe not only as a vital link between Central Europe and Adriatic Sea but also as a prime travel destination.

Vienna, capital, largest and primary city of Austria, is one of the nine states of Austria. With a population of around 1.7 million, Vienna is the tenth largest city by population in Europe. It is the cultural, economic and administrative center of Austria. As of 2008, Vienna ranks at #1 in terms of quality of Life (shares the rank with Vancouver) and at #2 in terms of quality of living. Vienna is the seat of several international organizations like United Nations and OPEC and also houses many UNESCO world heritage sites. Vienna plays a major role in European and World politics.

Vienna is situated in the east of Austria and close to Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. With its humid continental climate, Vienna has warm and pleasant summers and cold winters with low temperatures up to freezing point. Vienna has a very long tradition of its art and culture and thus opera houses, theaters, classical music and arts remain as the primary theme of several festivals, concerts and cultural events.
