Budapest and is the capital and largest city of Hungary and serves as the political, economical, cultural and business center of Hungary. It is a very important commercial hub in Central Europe. As of 2008, the population of Budapest is around 1.7 million. Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities in EU that attracts about 20 million tourists every year. There are many World Heritage Sites in Budapest including the banks of the river Danube, the Buda Castle quarter and the Millennium Underground Railway (first on the European Continent). In 2008, Budapest became the center of attraction all over the world when the largest thermal water cave system was discovered in Budapest.

Budapest is located in the central Hungary surrounded by the settlements of the agglomeration in Pest County. Danube River separates the city into two parts. Climate of Budapest is temperate and transitional. It varies between mild and rainy weather of Transdanubia, continental climate of the flat and sub-Mediterranean weather of the south. 91% of the population is Hungarian and the rest is comprised by Germans, Slovaks, Greeks and Romanian. Budapest has numbers of places of special interests including neo-Gothic Parliament, St. Stephen’s Basilica, the Castle hill, district and museum, Royal Palace, Matthias Church, Fisherman’ Bastion, statue of Turul (the mythical guardian bird of Hungary), Hungarian State Opera House and the banks of Danube.
