Pristina is the capital and largest city of Kosovo, a territory in the Balkans, which is disputed between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia. The population of Pristina stands between 500,000 to 600,000, majority of the population being Albanian. Serbs, Turks and Bosnians are other ethnic groups in Pristina. Headquarters of the territory’s interim government and United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) are located in Pristina. Besides, the city is also the political, economical, cultural, educational and administrative center of Kosovo.

Pristina is located in the northeastern parts of Kosovo close to Goljak Mountains. The city covers an area of about 570 square kilometers. Pristina has a good geographical position, as it lies in the continental crossroads. From Pristina one can see a good view of SAR Mountains that lie several km away in the south of Kosovo. Museum of Kosovo is located in an Austro-Hungarian inspired building that served as the headquarters of Yugoslav National Army. The museum has an extensive collection of archaeological and ethnological artifacts. The clock tower of Pristina dates back to nineteenth century. The city is home to University of Pristina and has an international airport.

Belgrade, capital and largest city of Serbia, is situated at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers in north central Serbia. With a population of around 1.7 million, Belgrade is the most populous city in the territory of the former Yugoslavia. Belgrade is the second largest city on the Danube River and fourth largest city in Southeastern Europe after Istanbul, Athens and Bucharest. Belgrade, one of the oldest cities of Europe, was discovered by Greeks, founded and named by Celts and awarded city rights by the Romans. Belgrade is the economic hub of Serbia. It is also the major center for scientific, cultural and education activities.

Belgrade has a moderate continental climate with July being the hottest month and December and January being the coldest months with sub-zero temperatures. Belgrade is the most economically developed part of Serbia and is home to the National Bank of Serbia. It is the seat for many multi national corporations such as Unilever, Japan Tobaccos, Microsoft, Motorola and Intel, among other. Belgrade holds several cultural festivals and events including few International festivals. Belgrade is a popular destination for the weekend visitors from Bosnia, Croatia and Slovenia particularly for its vibrant and unrestricted nightlife on the banks of Sava and Danube rivers.
