Vienna, capital, largest and primary city of Austria, is one of the nine states of Austria. With a population of around 1.7 million, Vienna is the tenth largest city by population in Europe. It is the cultural, economic and administrative center of Austria. As of 2008, Vienna ranks at #1 in terms of quality of Life (shares the rank with Vancouver) and at #2 in terms of quality of living. Vienna is the seat of several international organizations like United Nations and OPEC and also houses many UNESCO world heritage sites. Vienna plays a major role in European and World politics.

Vienna is situated in the east of Austria and close to Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. With its humid continental climate, Vienna has warm and pleasant summers and cold winters with low temperatures up to freezing point. Vienna has a very long tradition of its art and culture and thus opera houses, theaters, classical music and arts remain as the primary theme of several festivals, concerts and cultural events.

Belgrade, capital and largest city of Serbia, is situated at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers in north central Serbia. With a population of around 1.7 million, Belgrade is the most populous city in the territory of the former Yugoslavia. Belgrade is the second largest city on the Danube River and fourth largest city in Southeastern Europe after Istanbul, Athens and Bucharest. Belgrade, one of the oldest cities of Europe, was discovered by Greeks, founded and named by Celts and awarded city rights by the Romans. Belgrade is the economic hub of Serbia. It is also the major center for scientific, cultural and education activities.

Belgrade has a moderate continental climate with July being the hottest month and December and January being the coldest months with sub-zero temperatures. Belgrade is the most economically developed part of Serbia and is home to the National Bank of Serbia. It is the seat for many multi national corporations such as Unilever, Japan Tobaccos, Microsoft, Motorola and Intel, among other. Belgrade holds several cultural festivals and events including few International festivals. Belgrade is a popular destination for the weekend visitors from Bosnia, Croatia and Slovenia particularly for its vibrant and unrestricted nightlife on the banks of Sava and Danube rivers.

Ljubljana, capital and largest city of Slovenia, is situated in the center of the country in the valley of the river Ljubljanica between the Kras region and Julian Alps. With a population of around 270,000, Ljubljana is a mid-sized city that is influenced by German, Latin and Slavic culture, being located between Austria, Hungary, the Venice region of Italy and Croatia.. It is the cultural, economic, scientific, administrative and political center of Slovenia. It is also the seat of Parliament and President of Slovenia. The old German name of the city is Laibach however; there is no unanimous agreement about the origin of the present name of the city.

Ljubljana‘ climate is generally continental with July being the hottest month, January and February being the coldest months and September and October being the wettest months. Petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and food processing are the most important and major industries in the city of Ljubljana. The city hosts numbers of art galleries and museums including a brewery museum, railway museum and architectural museum. Every year thousands of cultural events take place in the city including ten international festivals of music, art and theater.
